In 2022, Afghanistan rose to the #1 most persecuted nation in the world and now remains within the Top 10.
As Afghanistan fell to Taliban control in August 2021, the Afghan House Church Network swiftly acted to evacuate Afghan believers facing persecution. L and S, the network’s leaders, who have served Afghans for many years, partnered with Commission Coaching during this critical time to support these efforts.
In the past, Commission Coaching, alongside key partners and generous donors, raised funds to assist these vulnerable brothers and sisters with emergency relocation. Currently, L* coordinates ever-changing, urgent needs, supporting believers now dispersed globally and addressing ongoing crises. He also leads the Afghan House Church Network in standing firm to aid Afghans remaining in the country amid a devastating humanitarian crisis. Last year, 150 Afghans professed their faith in Jesus, and 422 Afghan believers were formally discipled through weekly classes. In total, over two dozen house churches across five countries had members meeting with our team.
Today, L and S have expanded this multifaceted ministry, focusing on evangelism, discipleship, leadership training, and church planting. Their efforts include media outreach, house churches, and online programs, all actively reaching Afghans. L develops training and resources in local Afghan languages and trains Afghan leaders and pastors to multiply the Gospel. S leads Bible studies and disciples women through the Afghan House Church Network’s Women’s Ministry while also engaging in online media follow-up, answering faith-related questions, and sharing Jesus’ Good News. They hope that, in the coming years, churches will grow and thrive again in Afghanistan and wherever Afghans are found.
