When it started to crumble:

Our Commission coach had a lot of knowledge about our region of the world and was a reliable source of information about the religion we were engaging and culture into which we were integrating. We had a monthly video meeting for the first eight months our team was on the field. However, nine months in I came to the end of myself.
I was experiencing massive culture shock, I was exhausted and I also had no ability or wisdom to help my fellow team members with their experiences either. I reached out to our coach, desperate for help. He responded immediately and said he would drop everything to help us. And he did just that. He spent hours online with our team, listening with the deepest compassion, responding like a loving father and a wise elder. He gifted us with his empathy and told us we were normal for feeling the way we did. But he didn't leave us there. He gave us hope and practical tools to help us keep moving forward. We have now been on the field for 2 years and every single team member is still thriving in this nation. We all made it through the toughest time in transition. We all look back to that meeting as a crucial moment where we received a wind of strength and knew we would get through. In that meeting our coach went from just a long-distance advisor to a fatherly mentor I felt safe sharing my heart with. Since that time, I have so enjoyed working with him and look forward to continue working together. Thank you for supporting this coaching ministry.
